One principle of Presbyterian government provides that our members have the right to determine those that lead and govern them. Please prayerfully consider participating, either by suggesting someone you believe is called to lead, or by volunteering yourself! Persons nominated must:
Be active members of GVPC
Attend worship regularly
Participate in the life and work of the church
Nominating & Selection Process
A Nominating Committee, elected by the congregation, solicits names of persons eligible to hold leadership positions.
The congregation submits names to the Nominating Committee.
The Nominating Committee prayerfully and confidentially considers each name.
In the Fall of 2008, the Nominating Committee presents a slate of nominees to the congregation.
Elders and deacons serve a 3-year term beginning in January 2009.
For a more detailed description of elder and deacon responsibilities, talk to any elder or deacon.
Who to Suggest...?
